WEB Oranje Nassau Modernizes with Environmentally Friendly Drive
Oranje Nassau Returns to Berlin's Waterways
WEB Oranje Nassau, a popular 20-meter sightseeing boat and water taxi, has recently re-entered service on Berlin's canals. The vessel, originally built in the 1990s, has undergone a significant upgrade, including the installation of an environmentally friendly Torqeedo electric propulsion system.
Royal History
Named after Princess Marianne of Orange-Nassau, the Oranje Nassau has a rich history. Marianne was born in Berlin and was a member of the Dutch royal family.
Sustainable Transformation
The boat's transformation to electric power marks a commitment to sustainability. The diesel engine previously used has been replaced with an electric motor, significantly reducing the boat's emissions. This upgrade aligns with Berlin's efforts to promote environmentally friendly transportation in the city.
